The line'All that glitters is not gold' occurs in Shakespeare's play 'The  Merchant of Venice '. In the play ,Prince of Morocco is attracted by the glitter of the golden casket and makes his choice ,but loses the hand of fair Portia . The line has since then becomes a proverb .
