First Impression Is Not Always The Best

The line'All that glitters is not gold' occurs in Shakespeare's play 'The  Merchant of Venice '. In the play ,Prince of Morocco is attracted by the glitter of the golden casket and makes his choice ,but loses the hand of fair Portia . The line has since then becomes a proverb . In the simple words ,it refers to the fact that appearances are often deceptive . The seemingly beautiful and attractive object may turn out to be useless and even harmful . It is ,of course ,true that it is human nature to be attracted good and beautiful person and things . Today young boys fall prey to the outward beauty of young girls . The person who marries a beautiful girl , without bothering about her nature and temperament,may have to repent all his life . The same is the case with young girl . A handsome boy may not prove to be a good and faithful husband . It is truly said that a good apple may be rotten at the centre . Similarly ,a person may smile and smile and yet to be a villian . So it is essential that we should be alert and caution in making our choices . We should not merely  go by outward appearance . A knowledgeable person avoids the most beautiful and seemingly delicious fruit in the forest . Such fruits may be tempting ,but they are often poisonous . Eve , according to the biblical story, was attracted by the beautiful and yet forbidden fruit of knowledge . She failed to resist the temptation to taste it . The moment she and Adam, her companion ,ate the forbidden fruit ,they were punished by God ,and were thrown out of paradise for ever . In our day to day world there are many seemingly beautiful things -glittering cars and bikes ,gadgets and products of various kinds . Those who buy them by taking loans ,fall into endless debt traps and suffer for long . Advertisement often mislead us . Beautiful and handsome actor and other person lure us to buy worthless things . So we should be careful in our judgement . We should not be led by the outward show or appearance . Even a simple looking girl may have a heart of gold . A seemingly ugly man may be an angel in disguise . We should therefore ,go by the glitter but by the intrinsic beauty of a person or object  ....
